Great day yesterday.
August 29, 2009
I actually had some work in the city yesterday, so I was at the mercy of food vendors. And then there was D&D at night, which is normally a snackfest. But I made it work:
- Bacon egg and cheese on a roll for breakfast (with 2 cups of coffee). I knew this was coming, so I planned for it. 11 points.
- Sushi for lunch, with miso soup. 8 points. Told ya I planned for it.
- Dinner was a small sausage and pepper sandwich (leftover from last week’s party) and a pickle. 8 points.
- That’s 27 points. I had seven more before going into bonus points at D&D, and with the help of Sharon’s scale, we measured my rations of pretzels, cheetos and chips, giving me a grand total of 9 points.
A D&D game where I come out spending just two bonus points? I musta been wearing my cloak of resistance.
(31 bonus points left in the week.)

Bonus Points Massacre!
August 25, 2009
So I stopped into NYC yesterday to see some friends and my old job and to play some D&D. And breaking things down — the 10-point sandwich I had, the three-for-a-dollah bananas I brought to the game, the two diet sodas, the Andy Capp’s Hot Fries, the black beans, andouille sausage and rice that our host generously provided for dinner, and the portion of a Cadbury bar I ate on the train on the way home (which I wisely left a note on for Kathy to take the rest in for work), it was a slaughter. But, like the D&D game itself, I survived by the skin of my teeth: I gobbled down 17 bonus points yesterday, leaving me with 6. Which is more than the number of hit points I had left before being killed outright.
