The Day So Far
September 18, 2009
Breakfast was an egg sandwich on a burger roll with peppers and some gorgonzola cheese. Six points.
Spent 5 more points a tuna fish sandwich — no mayo, just mustard. Also had a chewy granola bar for 2 points. And more iced coffee.
So that’s 13 points so far today — 20 left to go, but there’s a D&D game tonight. Better get ready.

Last night.
September 3, 2009
After the meeting last night, I stopped at the supermarket and bought some shrimp for dinner. (Shrimp is my friend: delicious, and only 1 point for every two ounces!) Picked up some tortilla chips, black bean and corn salsa, and organic limeade, too. There were plenty of points left in my day.
So I sat down to write a little with an ounce of the chips and some salsa, plus some limeade (6 points). Then for dinner, I had Shrimp fra diavolo, with a lot of pasta for an impossible 8 points. (Part of what keeps it so lo is a local, jersey-fresh sauce we use that’s essentially all garden veggies, so no points to speak of. Not like sugary store-bought sauces.)
Then we watched the Burn Notice season finale (man I love that show) and defrosted a few Christmas cookies. Three cookies, 1 glass of milk: 8 points, give or take. I’d had nine left, so I called it a night. The new week starts today!

Last Night, This Morning.
September 2, 2009
Last night, had some jamaican shrimp & rice for dinner with a salad… a pretty low-point affair. Used my remaining points on a tasty dessert: a banana with peanut butter, a small glass of milk, and a bite-size milky way bar to top it off.
This morning? Triple sliced bagel with cream cheese on 2slices, butter & jalapeno jelly on the third. Nine poins should do it. (Iced coffee on the side, of course. Which reminds me: I need to buy more coffee.)

The rest of the night.
August 27, 2009
So, I went into dinner with 8 points left, as well as 6 bonus points for the week. Luckily, this time I was prepared.
We had bowtie pasta (6 points’ worth) with shrimp (2 points) and all-natural, jersey fresh sauce we got from Cafe Soliel in Hightstown a couple weeks ago (0 points). Plus, I had a salad with a farmer’s market red bell pepper and some lite dressing (2 points). I made croutons, too, but totally forgot about them while making the salad. Just as well — the Parmesan cheese I used on the pasta gave me another point. That’s 11 points, out of 14.
So I had a Edy’s frozen-fruit popsicle for desert. 2 points.
So I end my week with 1 bonus point to spare.
Let’s see what I can lose next week.

Fish Fry!
August 22, 2009
Finished up the night with some fried tilapia, cornbread and a salad. That took care of the 16 remaining points I had, I figure. Then I had some of the leftover dough from a pie crust Kathy was making (mmmm…dough…) and I guess I better throw two more bonus points on the fire.
Remaining Bonus Points: 29

Enchilada!
August 11, 2009
As planned, I had my leftover seafood enchilada for lunch. 9 points — up to 14 for the day!

Big Dinner at Jose Tejas
August 10, 2009
So, we headed out to Jose Tajas for dinner tonight. I had 17 points left, and used them on a light beer, some chips and salsa, and a handful of aps — none of which were good for me, but all of which I held back on. Then my order of seafood enchiladas came, with a side of jambalaya… I ate the jambalaya and one of the two enchiladas (and am calling that 14 points). So, I’ve got three more bonus points for tomorrow and Wednesday. Will I make it?

Oh, that went well.
August 8, 2009
So my friend Chris came to town, and he, Kathy and I went out to dinner. We went to Wild Rice, a local (and delicious) Asian fusion restaurant in town, and I had one out of the five appetizer rolls and a bowl of Monsoon Soup with seafood — an Udon soup I’m estimating at 12 points, or 14 for the meal altogether. Which left me with 6 for dessert.
Well, there’s an ice cream shop two doors down, and without knowing the points for ice cream, I went and ordered a double-scoop cone. I knew I should’ve ordered a single, but I ordered a double.
The weight watchers book says a scoop of premium ice cream is 7 points, and I had two, on a sugar cone (1 point). All told, 15 points. So it looks like I used 9 of my bonus points on tonight’s dessert. I knew I’d be dipping into them when I ordered the ice cream, but that was a little more than I’d bargained for. And if I’d ordered a single scoop, I’d only be two in the red.
Ah, well. Live and learn. Anyway, that’s it for my eating tonight. See you tomorrow.

Dinner, Day One
August 6, 2009
Leftovers!
After my lentil soup late lunch (part 2, another 2 points), I waited until a few minutes ago to have dinner. A leftover Indian chicken dish (I forget what it’s called, let alone how to spell it) over a little bit of rice. (I’m calling that 8 points) as well as half a swordfish steak, with a little more teriyaki sauce. (There’s 5 more). So that’s 13 points in this paragraph.
Make that 14 — I had a glass of iced tea, sweetened a little.
Adding in the 8 points I ate for breakfast and the 5 for the strawberries and yogurt, that’s 27 points.
Which means I’ve got 7 more points I really should spend tonight… and I ought to do it soon, since it’s so late already.
I’ll throw two points at underestimation, and call the remainder 5. Hmmm… Do I want cheese, or a popsicle, or a cheese popsicle?
And probably another iced tea. Yum…
UPDATE: It was some crackers with light cheese spread, and a glass of unsweetened iced tea. That’s it for the night.
