Today’s cookout.

Whatever counting I did, didn’t end well. There go my bonus points. But I’ll be hiking tomorrow, so I can expect some activity points if I need them…

After some chicken, london broil, loaded mashed potatoes, brownies and a bunch of fruit, I’ve dipped 6 more points into my bonus allotment. 23 left, and another cookout to go.

Had a great time at Sharon’s 40th at Monmouth park. Even won a little (very little) money (I came out $3 ahead). But counting points? Not so good.
There were soft pretzels and fried chicken and beer and coleslaw and wraps and cupcakes and cookies and tequila with peppers in it and a vodka-infused watermelon. And some stuff I didn’t try.
Now, I had 32 points left in the day I’d started things off with a banana), and another 31 bonus points for the week. So if I need to tonight, I’ll eat something light for a dinnersnack. And then I’ll call those bonus points a wash.
But it was a helluva good day. Happy birthday, Sharon.

I call it a win.

This didn’t post the first time I wrote it.
First of all, I downgraded my bagel to 8 points — it was neufchatel cheese. (Please don’t make me spell that again, or put the little roof on the a!)
Next, at my nephew’s birthday/graduation party, I ate a few ribs, a bit of baked ziti, and a salad (a salad? at a party? really, Rob?), bringing me up to 20 points. I drank 0-point diet pepsi the whole way through. Then I spent the day’s remaining 14 points on dessert — a little slice of cheesecake, a sliver of Kathy’s chocolate-raspberry tart, and some fresh fruit. Plus, I managed to withstand the lure of a cheeseburger, hotdog, or bbq chicken for the rest of the night.
Finally, when I got home, I felt like I needed a little more actual nutrition, so I ate a tomato sandwich (4 points, which get taken out of my bonus allotment). If you had told be that I’d get through this party day by only using 4 bonus points, I’d have called you a liar. But you were right! You’re so smart.
